The fruit for this Chardonnay is grown on our Coolart Block in Moorooduc on the northern part of the peninsula, the warmer climate allows for that more fuller style malo'd Chardonnay that we love.
The wine was made in two distinct parcels; one in tank where the fruit was the true hero and the other in French barriques with partial Malo giving depth and complexity. Both parcels matured on lees until just before bottling. The end result was a full bodied almost buttery Chardonnay yet with a strong lively fruit of the unwooded parcel.
Colour: Deep straw golden yellow
Aroma: The first impressions are rich and buttery that you would expect from a full bodied Chardonnay with clear hints of fresh melon fruits
Palate: A lively palate of intense citrus almost zingy palate combined with the wooded parcel giving a good depth and complexity
Cellaring:Aging very well and developing the toast & butter flavours from an aged wine. WIll improve further in the bottle but is drinking exceptionally well now
